WHY ISN'T ARBORETUM ORGANIZING TREE PLANTING THIS YEAR?

This is the question our volunteers have been asking us lately.

ANSWER: Because the State has finally taken action!

The primary purpose of all the tree plantings we've organized so far, whether by us or other colleagues in civil society, has been to generate a change in attitude towards forests from society and to prompt state structures to respond to this demand from the people. And it's happening now! It's our common achievement! Togheter, we started a New Social Dynamics!

Don't imagine that an NGO, or a group of NGOs, is capable of afforesting and protecting tens of thousands of hectares, do you?

The National Forest Expansion and Rehabilitation Program #PNERP, with an ambitious goal of 145 thousand hectares over the next 10 years, begins this year with the first 6000 hectares. For these areas, over 35 million seedlings have been raised in nurseries. Over the past three years, the Presidency, the Ministry of the Environment, the MoldSilva Agency, Environmental NGOs (including ARBORETUM), national and international experts, development partners, and funders have worked hand in hand on this program.

A Communication Strategy with a new visual identity has been developed, which you will encounter more and more in the coming times (see the image in the cover). The "MOLDSILVA" AGENCY has prepared the soil on almost every plot. You can find the map via the link. Inside each location, the phones of responsible persons are indicated, with whom you can coordinate the schedule to know on which days the work is taking place and when you can join.

Plant Trees! Plant Forests! See you in the field! #ForestGeneration

WHAT WILL ARBORETUM DO NEXT IF IT DOESN'T ORGANIZE PLANTINGS?

We remain dedicated to solving the problems of sustainable reforestation in the country. They haven't decreased, and they might even be increasing! Over the past years of involvement, as we delved into the subject, we identified the following 2 critical points for the application of effort, toward which we continue to direct our organization's modest resources. We'll talk about this in the next posts. Keep in touch!
